The Blood Volume Pulse (BVP) Finger Sensor can be used to measure the relative changes in blood flow resulting from the heart beat. With this sensor we measure both the heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability (HRV) and also the level of vasoconstriction and vasodilation. It uses near infrared light technology, also known as PPG (photoplethysmography). Often this NeXus sensor is combined with the NeXus respiration sensor when used for Heart Rate Variability (HRV) training. BVP is a very non-invasive and quick way of measuring heart rate, HRV and relative blood flow. For research purposes a higher precision measurement of heart rate (HR in terms of sampling rate) can be achieved by using the ECG/EKG based HR signal with the ExG Sensor cable.
Features
This BVP finger sensor for NeXus offers:
An easy finger clip-on mechanism
Brushed metal connector for high durability
Systems
The BVP Finger Sensor is available in 2 types.
NeXus: for the NeXus-10 (MKI, MKII), NeXus-4, NeXus 32F. This sensor comes with a ODU brushed metal connector.
